Can Wet Carpet Be Saved?

Often, yes. If the water was clean, like a supply line or a burst pipe, and we start fast, carpet can usually be extracted and dried in place. The pad underneath soaks up water like a sponge, so it is usually cheaper and safer to replace it than to try to dry it.
